Finals day 2 started off with the ladies pairs and a family affair where Nicky Moffatt and her partner Jenny Kent took on her Aunt Marjorie Rose and Donna Watson. The game was very tight early on but a string of 13 shots in 8 ends from Moffatt and Kent saw them claim the victory 24-8.
In the Ladies handicap singles final Jenny and Nicky were opponents after being partners in the morning. Jenny started with an 8 shot lead but Nicky soon clawed that to be 11-9 up after 5 ends. The game was very evenly matched after that. Jenny saving game on a few occasions. With the scores at 20-19 Jenny clinched the 1 shot she needed to add the handicap singles to the ladies and mixed pairs she had previously won
The Novice singles saw Malcolm Davey face Ady Styles again the spectators were treated to a great game. Davey ran away to an early 10-5 lead before Ady pegged it back to lead 14-13. Malcolm then had a great run of 8 unanswered shots to pick up his first singles title winning the Drage Cup 21-14.
In the game of the day we saw Gerry Smyth take on Dean Brookes in the open singles, the game was really close early on but with Brookes leading 13-11 Smyth picked up 7 shots to lead 18-13. Brookes slowly pegged this back to 16-20 where Smyth held game before Brookes unleashed a hit or bust bomb to ditch the jack to pick up 2 and then another 2 on the next end saw the scores tied at 20 all. Brookes built a good head to pick up the he 1 needed to lift the open singles for the first time 21-20.
