Bletchley Shine on the West End

On a cold wet windy evening in May 8 players from Bletchley Town traveled to Buckingham to take on the best from Buckingham West end in the Bowls England National 2x4s. After the rain had poured all day it was a miracle the game was still on and actually the green held up really well.

Dave Labrum, Rhys Lee, Mal Drage and Don Savage took and early 4-0 lead only for it to be dwindled back to 4-5 down after 6 ends the game was nip and tuck from there on until a massive 5 on the 14th end took the Town boys 14-10 up they marched on from there running out eventual winners 21-14

On the other rink Alex Squires Dave Clay Dean Brookes and Gerry Smyth got off to a slower start until they hit the Buckingham boys with a barrage of 3s and 4s to take a 14-3 lead the bombardment continued and they ran away 31-8 winners

Final result 52-22 win for Bletchley. The next round will take place away before the 18th June against either Hazells or Wendover click here to view the draw

We must thank the 2 reserves Dave and Jamie for coming and also the 3 fish and chip eating supporters for coming out on such a miserable evening to support the lads.

Onwards and upwards for the Town.
