So last night saw the dramatic conclusion to Super League 2.

Going into the last round of games any 1 of 5 teams could of made the top two spots and clinch a place in the Grand Final. At the start of the night Lloyds team (Hot Shots) held top spot and Dave West team (Dream Team) were in second place.

Hotshots took on the Vikings only needing half a point to get to the final, however the Vikings (Tony Doyle, Ian Hodges and Dean Brookes) had other ideas knowing 3 points would secure top spot. They stormed to victory winning both sets 10-2 8-1 and finished top of the table.

The Dream Team also needed a win to reach the final but last year’s Champions skipped by Alex Squires put a spanner in the works beating them 2 set to nil.

The Warriors (Gareth Doyle, Mike Bodman & Don Savage) started the day in 4th spot and with a 2 set victory over the Icons picking up a maximum of 3 points managed to climb up to second place and confirm a place in the final.

The Final was a very close affair, as the Vikings went into the last end of the 1st set 3-1 up but dropped a 2 doubled up to 4 to lose the first set 5-3, The Warriors then kicked on in the second set to get 6-2 however not all was lost with double points on the line on the last end. The end did not build up very well and with the last bowl to play the Warriors were holding 2. Dean really didn’t have much chance of getting a 3 however he blasted the jack towards the ditch it bounced around and he picked up a 2 doubled up to 4 to draw the second set.
